(STURGIS) - A special recognition was given out by Sturgis Public Schools Monday afternoon.
During the Sturgis Board of Education meeting, School officials recognized Eastwood Educational Assistant Dan Gould for his quick actions on March 12.
Eastwood Assistant Principal Seth Story shared that on March 12, Gould was on lunch duty in the Eastwood Cafeteria when a student started to choke. Story says Gould didn't hesitate as he went to the child, performed the Heimlich maneuver and saved the student's life. (LISTEN ABOVE).
Gould was also honored with a life saving recognition by the Sturgis Department of Public Safety.
